The Second Amendment gives the right to the people to own guns, but not everyone approves. Hollywood actor Brad Pitt put his career in jeopardy by defending this Amendment because he stood up for gun rights. He took a major stand for the Second Amendment and this didn’t come as a surprise since he’s a gun owner. During an interview, he said that he owns a gun since the age of 6. Also, he said he feels safer when he has a gun in his house.

In the liberal world of Hollywood, it’s rare to find any actor that is brave enough to risk their career by defending the Second Amendment. However, Hollywood A-lister Brad Pitt, a spoke out recently to defend gun rights and to share his own personal stories as a gun owner.
Independent Journal Review reported that Pitt revealed in an interview that he has owned guns since he was 6 years-old.
“There’s a rite of passage where I grew up of inheriting your ancestors’ weapons,” said Pitt. “My brother got my dad’s. I got my grandfather’s shotgun when I was in kindergarten.”
Pitt was born in Oklahoma and raised in Missouri, and he was first given an airgun before he received a shotgun at the age of 6. When he was 8, he fired his first handgun.
“The positive is that my father instilled in me a profound and deep respect for the weapon,” Pitt said.
The Hollywood star previously spoke out in support of the Second Amendment after the Aurora, Colorado movie theater shooting in 2012.
“America is a country founded on guns,” Pitt said. “It’s in our DNA. It’s very strange but I feel better having a gun. I really do. I don’t feel safe, I don’t feel the house is completely safe, if I don’t have one hidden somewhere. That’s my thinking, right or wrong.”
If Brad Pitt defends the right to own a gun, that doesn’t mean he supports violence. He just wants to protect his home and family in case someone attacks them.
